In April 28 morning, "the Chinese Red Cross International Exchange Center"  foundation laying ceremony was held in Boao, Hainan province. Peng Peiyun, president of the China Red Cross Society, Jiang Yiman, executive vice president of the Society and more than 100 people attended the foundation laying ceremony.

    Jiang said that the Chinese Red Cross International Exchange Center in Boao, will become a social and cultural construction of a new bright spot in Boao, the Red Cross Society of China will play a central role to promote the spirit of the Red Cross, making it a training, exchange of an important base for Society’s and Red Cross movement at home and abroad.

    The Chinese Red Cross International Exchange Center is located at Baolian city of Boao Town, the total land area of 1,859 square meters, construction area of 2,334 square meters, including an office/reception, the meeting displayed and logistical living facilities composed of three parts of the three-floor independent construction. The building learned of the style of architectural elements from Geneva’s International Red Cross headquarters, and the new classical architectural styles, with the sense of the times and geographical features of Hainan.

    The Center project is donated by the Baolian city of Boao Industrial Co., Ltd., worth about 12 million yuan. The project will be completed by the end of April 2009, and officially put into use on June 30,2009
