The Red Cross Society of China (RCSC) said on Monday that it would offer 100,000 dollars to help the relief efforts in quake-hit Chile. A massive 8.8-magnitude quake rocked Chile early Saturday morning, leaving at least 723 people dead. More than 2 million people were affected by the temblor and more than 1.5 million buildings were damaged or destroyed. The president of RCSC Hua Jianmin expressed his sincere sympathy for the affected people and promised to provide support and assistant to disaster areas in his letter to Chilean Red Cross Society on Feb. 28.
