The Red Cross Society of China (RCSC) donated 20 million yuan in kinds and cash to severely mudslide area of Zhouqu, Gansu province to carry out relief operation.
On behalf of the RCSC, executive vice president Wang Wei made the donation at Zhou County on Wednesday. A work group led by Wang was in the field to assessment the situation, visit the victims and distribute relief supplies.
Wang expressed that the Society would play its unique role in supporting relief operation.
In other development, the local Red Cross branch has set up a logistic base near Zhouqu, receiving and distributing the relief materials coming from other regions raised by Red Cross across country.
