
As of Aug. 19, the Gansu provincial Red Cross had received 59.87 million yuan of donation for support to its landslide relief operation at Zhouqu county, which include cashes of 44.16 million and materials valued at 15.7 million. This was reported by the Gansu Red Cross branch yesterday.

In RC’s relief operation, these donations have been spent on emergency response: some relief materials worth over 15 million have been distributed and also 1.5 million of cash were paid to carry out relief operation.

Heavy downpours triggered landslides and mud-rock flows in Zhouqu County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Gansu Province, early Aug 8. At least 1200 people have been confirmed dead and more than 400 are still missing, according to Chinese authorities.
