ROK ambassador to China Mr. Yu Woo-ik and his wife became the honorary members of the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC) on 24th, August.
Yu Woo-ik and his wife donated 1,000 dollars to RSCS as its honorary members.
It’s said that Mr. Yu Woo-ik and his wife have paid great attention to Chinese public good and hoped to become member of RCSC since he became the ROK ambassador to China on December 2009.
RCSC executive vice president Wang Wei said that it’s the first time for RSCS to accept ambassador as its honorary member. It’s a new stage for Chinese Red Cross cause and opened up new areas of cooperation between two countries’ Red Cross societies and the friendly exchanges between the two peoples.
Mr. Yu Woo-ik showed his condolences to Chinese people who are suffering from flood during the meeting. He said that he and his wife always wanted to use their own modest power to help people in need since they worked in China. It’s the reason why they want to be members of the Chinese Red Cross.
He showed his willingness too of blood donation to fulfill his membership obligation during the meeting. He also called on the young embassy staff to donate blood when Chinese people need them.
